Continuum Mechanics has a page showing that A_{ij}B_{ij} is a scalar because every possible combination of ‘i’ and ‘j’ becomes a term a_{ij}b_{ij} and they are all summed together. We would predict this after putting A_{ij}B_{ij} through our computer program because the loops for ‘i’ and ‘j’ would be in the summation section.

Tensor: A Linear Transformation

A Research Gate page showed punctuation marks as placeholders in a tensorial multiplication:

S^{ab}_{..cd} P_{ef} = T^{ab}_{..cdef}

This raises questions such as “should every T^a_b be either T^.a_b or latex]T^a_.b[/latex]? Even after putting in the placeholder punctuation, could we have a problem with the text not lining up as it should?
