White Knight Talking Backwards

When you start writing about math and science, you will have situations where the work you did leading up to something went in one direction, but when it comes time to write it out you present it in an order that is backwards to that.

You present a–>b–>c–>d but you started with d, figured out c, then figured out b, then proved that you could get from b to a. And then you figured out the reverse for each.

That’s one twist on the White Knight. Here’s another.

You may reach a point where you want to just stop your forward progress and ask yourself “what do I have and how did I get here?” You may slowly work backwards from where you’re at to the beginning, taking time to look at everything. Doing that may help you see things you need before you can continue your forward progress.
